Coach Ittner's Legacy There have been many people that have inspired me in different kinds of ways whether that be my mom and the way she inspires me to be orderly with the way I live or my Grandma who preaches to never quit no matter what is thrown at us. There is one man specifically that has impacted my life for the better in so many ways, and that would be my high school baseball coach Matt Ittner. Coach Ittner coached me for 4 years nearly 6 days a week. He committed all of his time to the Cox high school team and I can take credit for the men he’s created as well as the state championship we won under his leadership.  I first met coach Ittner during the summer coming into my freshman year of high school when I was volunteering for a Cox-run baseball kid camp that our program held every summer. The website has crisp Christopher Newport colors that flash headlines of victories in your face. I choose this site because of the information it provides. This site is the only place I can go to keep up with my team's sports success. The site lists the upcoming games that the captains will compete with as well as if they’re home and away. Therefore all you have to do when you're looking for where you can catch the next game will be staring you in the face the second you pull the site up. I checked out some of the athletic rosters and the load time in between frames was outstanding.      America's pastime is back in action as 18 teams will face off on an opening day to continue the journey to October. The beautiful thing about baseball is the unpredictability of sport. As an example, will this may not be the exact level of MLB it is still one of the highest levels you can play baseball in the world. Tennesse vols baseball team this year was said to be one of the most talented college baseball teams of all time. This team didn't even come close to winning this year's college world series which truly explains how unpredictable the game of baseball truly is.      My name is Gavin Spencer and I'm excited to share my opinions and some factual data on this blog for all to see. I was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and still call that my home to this day. I attend Christopher Newport University and am a part of the baseball team here. The game of baseball has been a huge part of my life and my upbringing and still gives me the drive it did when I was younger at the age of 19. Other than the game of baseball here at Christopher Newport I am striving towards a degree in economics with a minor in business.
